Sara studied Environmental Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) for 5 years, undertaking a variety of units, including water treatment, sewage and solid waste treatment and environmental hydraulics. She graduated in 2006 and worked as Environmental Consultant in Naples before moving to Bristol to undertake a PhD in Civil Engineering, graduating in September 2011.
Sara’s main area of research has been the assessment of the uncertainty in data and models used in hydro-meteorological forecasting.
She has focused in particular on the processing of weather radar rainfall estimates and on the implementation of short-term deterministic and probabilistic rainfall forecasts in flood forecasting. She has published several peer-reviewed papers and disseminated her research outputs at various international conferences.
Sara worked as research assistant in Civil Engineering until 2012, when she joined the School of Geographical Sciences for a two years lectureship in Hydrology. During this time, she taught several courses, including hydrology, river hydraulics and hydro-meteorological forecasting.
During her time working with EVY, she has worked on a variety of projects, carrying out hydrological analyses, hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments. Her skills include:
Sara joined the Edenvale Young team in October 2014, working out of our Bristol office until 2018, Sara is currently based in Bologna, Italy.
