Hydraulic Modeller

Becky Cook

Becky graduated with a Masters in Climate Change Science and Policy, and a Bachelors in Geology from the University of Bristol. Here she gained technical knowledge in sediment transportation, geomorphology, and climatic systems with a particular interest in the hydrosphere.

Since joining Edenvale Young in March 2023, Becky has worked on projects developing direct rainfall and fluvial hydraulic models, expanding her technical skills for ESTRY-TUFLOW. She has also had the opportunity to be involved in flood risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and designing SuDS’s.

Specialist Areas

Expertise

  • Building 1D-2D hydraulic models using TUFLOW-ESTRY to represent small and large scale fluvial catchments.
  • Hydrological modelling of catchment scale rainfall models for various storm events.
  • Analysing modelling results to produce clear and concise information for our clients.
  • Producing flood risk assessments, utilising both desktop study and hydraulic modelling to assess flood risk to a site and derive adequate mitigation options.
  • Undertaking environmental impact assessments by analysing various forms of climate indicators to ensure the water systems are not polluted.
