Alex graduated with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol in July 2013 and joined Edenvale Young Associates shortly afterwards. Throughout his career at Edenvale Young, he has undertaken a wide range of roles which includes hydraulic modeller, designer, project manager and since 2019, an associate level role as Operations Director.
He has successfully worked with a wide range of clients and stakeholders including; architects, housing developers, local authorities and the Environment Agency in order to provide sustainable design solutions to address issues of flood risk. Alex’s technical and managerial skills were formally recognised when he became a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2020. More recently his expertise in both engineering and flood risk has allowed him to assess the flood risk impacts of a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) for both the Temporary and Permanent Works designs.
