Teville Stream

The Teville Stream (also known as Broadwater Stream) in Worthing was culverted in the 1960s to flow along the boundary between an Industrial Estate, a landfill site and low lying agricultural land. The culvert collected storm water runoff from the industrial estate and the suburb of Broardwater. Consequently, water quality was consistently poor and the ecological and the hydro-geomorphological status of the chalk stream were compromised. Edenvale Young Associates (EVY) were commissioned by the Ouse and Adur Rivers Trust to advise on the realignment of 950m of the chalk stream through farmland by-passing the existing culverts.
