Tattenhall

The Mill Brook, running through Tattenhall, Cheshire, drains a rural lowland catchment of area 10.8sq km to the south-east of Chester.

The watercourse is known to have caused severe flooding in November 2000 affecting Old Mill Place and the High Street in Tattenhall. Groundwater is regularly pumped from the aquifer underneath Old Mill Place to reduce the elevation of the water table and there is a pond on the southern extent of the village which in the past may have been linked to a 'mill leat' running under Old Mill Place.

Edenvale Young were commissioned to investigate flood risk in Tattenhall and provide mitigation options to reduce this risk.
